Rod Van Guilder, PGA Professional, Director
The purpose of our junior program is unquestionably to develop, not only better golfers, but also better people. It is most important to remember that the child is more important than the golf swing or the game. The primary goal of every junior program is to develop lifelong golfers; golfers who will continue to play long after the program is over.
We have carefully set up our program for all age levels and abilities with restrictions on the number of students in each session. Sessions are four consecutive days followed by a Golf Outing from 4 to 6 PM on a Saturday. Each camp will be limited to 15 students with an instructor to student ratio of 1 to 5. Those who have participated in our golf camps in the past have enjoyed the program with many advancing their skills.
Three Levels Available
Level 1: Ages 6-9 Designed to be a fun introduction to the game for ages 6-10. We will cover the fundamentals of the game such as: grip, stance, swing, golf etiquette, safety, individual responsibilities, and conduct while on the course.
Level 2: Ages 10-14 It is specifically designed as an introduction to golf and will cover the fundamentals of the game as described in Level 1 with a more advanced approach.
Level 3: Ages 8-14 The primary focus of the camp is to master the individual skills of full swing, pitching, chipping, and putting. Each Junior will have their golf swing video taped, analyzed and will be given a copy which will include recommendations for improvement.

FAQ's
Juniors are not required to have their own clubs for Level 1 and Level 2. These camps are designed to be an introduction to the game. Don't invest in clubs at this stage. Those juniors who will be in Level 3 will require their own equipment. There will be no sharing of equipment.
Tips to Selecting Junior Clubs Golf Clubs can be an expensive purchase. It doesn't have to be if you purchase the right equipment the first time.
Juniors do not require full sets when starting out. It is recommended that each junior start with a minimum set of clubs. This could be a single wood, two irons and a putter. As skills progress then clubs can be added.
Cutting down clubs for kids makes the club stiffer. For every 2 inches the club is shortened, the relative flexibility of the shaft increases by one flex; i.e. a driver with an "R" flex shaft effectively becomes an "S" flex.
